Corona Virus

The treat of illness from the Corona Virus continues to grow and the world is battling to contain it.  Salthill Parish is following the advice from the Government and the Hierarchy regarding measures that need to be taken to deal with the threat of the spread of the virus. Gatherings of 100 people or more is not advised.   It is not possible to guarantee that congregations can be limited to 100 or fewer and so the bishop has issued an instruction that “all public Masses in this diocese, Sundays and weekdays, be suspended until 29 March or until further notice”.

In an attempt to facilitate parishioners and people who like to connect with their God through the Mass we will broadcast Mass each day at 10am. on our the Web Cam for the next few weeks .  Log in to “salthillparish.ie live web cam”  [there are two or three sites to get the Wed Cam – I have found the one with “mnc”in the address very reliable] .

The church will open to the public each day after this Mass for private visits, to allow people light a candle and for Adoration etc..

The parish continues to function, Parish Office open as usual,  baptisms, weddings and funerals may take place so long as the congregation is limited to 100 or fewer.

Hopefully working together we can deal with this “unprecedented issue”.
