George Fennell R.I.P.

Dr. Mannix Road, Salthill, Galway / Carrickmacross, Monaghan

Peacefully, at University Hospital Galway, after a short illness, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of the late Anna and much loved father of Carmel, Paul, Dermot, Emer and Siobhán; sadly missed by his sons and daughters and their partners, sister Anne, his adored grandchildren Sarah, Alanna, Dara, Isabella, Rory, Cathal, Iarla and Fiachra, extended family, his wonderful neighbours and friends.

Requiem Mass for George will be celebrated at Christ the King Church, Salthill on Monday, 26th October, at 12.30 p.m. Funeral after Mass to the New Cemetery, Bohermore.

In keeping with government guidelines to reduce the spread of Covid-19 this Funeral is taking place privately. The Mass can be viewed by going to the Salthill Parish Webcam.

Anna O’Coinne R.I.P.

The death has occurred of Anna O’Coinne (née Moore)
Taylor`s Hill, Galway City, Galway / Edenderry, Offaly

  • Anna O'Coinne
(Formerly of Killowen House, Edenderry, Co. Offaly) (peacefully) at the Galway Hospice surrounded by her loving daughters; dearly beloved wife of the late Liam and much-loved mother of Gillian and Susan. Predeceased by her brothers Neddy, Dan and Peter, sisters Phyllis and Rose-Mary. Deeply mourned and very sadly missed by her daughters, son-in-law Pádraig, her adored grandsons Joe and Jack and granddaughter Zoe, sister Breda, brothers Paddy and John, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

Requiem Mass for Anna will be celebrated at the Church of Christ the King, Salthill on Friday, 9th October, at 11 a.m. This Mass will be available to view online. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, to National Breast Cancer Research Institute.

Brian O’Connell R.I.P.

The death has occurred of Brian O’Connell
Pollnarooma West, Salthill, Galway

Suddenly and unexpectedly, beloved husband and best friend of Pam and much loved father of Tony, Jenny, Jeanne and Zoe. Sadly missed by his wife, son, daughters and their partners, his brother Donal, grandchildren Gabriella, Brian, Fiona, Ava, Leah, Evie and Ethan, by the extended family, his neighbours and friends.

A Funeral Service will be celebrated for Brian on Tuesday, 6th October, at 12.30 p.m. at the Church of Christ the King, Salthill. Cremation to follow. No flowers please. Memorial donations if you prefer to Croí.

“What’s your best discovery?” asked the mole?

“That I’m enough as I am,” said the boy.

And formerly of Limerick. Beloved husband of Imelda and dearly loved father of Thomas, Marina, Leo, Cecil, Alan and Nancy. Sadly missed by his loving family, his eleven grandchildren, son-in-law Justin Neary, daughters-in-law Theresa, Amy and Claire, brothers Leonard and Jimmy, sister Phyllis, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at his residence for family and relatives on Sunday, 4th October, from 4 o’clock until 6 o’clock. Removal on Monday, 5th October, to the Church of Christ the King, Salthill, for a private Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Burial after Mass in Rinville Cemetery.

Please follow Government guidelines on social distancing, refrain from shaking hands and wear a mask. Thank you.
