Brendan Guerin R.I.P.

~Brendan Guerin RIP

Formerly of Brooklawn, Knocknacarra Road and Cappoquin Co. Waterford. Brendan died peacefully after a short illness in the tender loving care of the Matron and staff at Áras Chois Fharraige, Spiddal with his daughter Fionnuala and son Shane at his side. Darling husband of 55 years and best friend to his late wife Phil and pre-deceased by his loving sister Phyllis, much-loved father of Fionnuala, Deirdre, Enda and Shane. Mourned and sadly missed by all his family, his son-in-law Michael, his daughters-in-law Maria and Celene, his nine grandchildren Laura, Patrick, Néill, Mollie, Connor, Joe, Eve, Myles and Isabel, his niece Fiona and his many friends.

A private family funeral will be celebrated for Brendan on Tuesday, 30th March, 2021 in accordance with current Covid-19 restrictions. The attendance at the church and at the cemetery will be limited to 10 people but we look forward to celebrating his long life with everyone when it is safe to do so.

Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Brendan at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the Church of Christ the King, Salthill and this Mass will be streamed live if you would like to participate online. Following Mass he will be laid to rest with Phil in Rahoon Cemetery.

(Formerly Salthill), peacefully at Galway Hospice after a short illness. Deeply mourned and sadly missed by his daughter Aileen, sons Aonghus and Ivor, sisters Rose and Helen (Galway), brothers Barry (Boston) and John (Paris), granddaughter Éabha, brothers-in-law Mike and John, sister-in-law Mary, son-in-law Wayne, daughter-in-law Tina, Ann, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and neighbours.

A Private Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday 27th March, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the Church of Christ the King, Salthill, followed by cremation at Shannon Crematorium.

Due to Government guidelines the Mass will be private and for family only. Messages of condolence can be left on the Condolence page below. Family flowers only. Donations if preferred in memory of Joe to Galway Hospice.

Sr Mai Eivers R.I.P.

Rosary Lane, Taylor’s Hill, Salthill, Galway / Clifden, Galway / Edgeworthstown, Longford

(Stella Maria, Rosary Lane, Taylor’s Hill, Galway)- March 25th 2021; late of Mercy Convents Clifden, South Africa & Galway and formerly of Camlisk, Edgeworthstown, Co. Longford; (peacefully) in the loving care of Sisters and Staff in Stella Maria. Predeceased by her parents Patrick & Annie (nee Quinn), her brothers Patrick (New York), Laurie­ (Edgeworthstown), Tony (England), sister Cecily (Cavan) and sister-in-law Noleen; Deeply regretted by her sister- in- law Claire (England), her nieces and nephews, Sisters of Mercy Western Province, relatives, friends and former colleagues and past pupils of Clifden.

Due to HSE and Government guidelines her funeral will be private. Mass will be celebrated in Church of Christ the King, Salthill, Galway on Saturday at 1.00p.m. and will be live streamed at Burial afterwards in Clifden, Convent Cemetery.
