Liam Gavin RIP

The death has occurred of Liam Gavin (Commandant Retired)
Athenry, Galway / Salthill, Galway

and formerly of Dalton Place, Salthill, Galway)

After a short illness, but peacefully in the presence of his loving family. Beloved husband of Marie and father of Síofra, Shane, Ronan and Liam. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, daughter and sons, his brother Seamus, grandchildren Deane, Siún, Ella, Conor, Abbie and Kian, his son-in-law Seán, daughters-in-law Anita, Tracy and Rachel, sister-in-law Mary, nieces and nephews and a large circle of friends.

May he rest in peace.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of the Stroke Unit, NUH Galway, for their care and compassion during Liam’s illness.

Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Liam on Tuesday 31 August at 11 a.m. at the Church of Christ the King, Salthill. The current attendance limit at the Church is 50 mourners and all funeral arrangements will comply with this guideline. Private cremation will follow. Family flowers only, please.

P.J. FlahertyPeacefully at home on Friday August 13th, in the presence of his family after a long illness bravely borne.

‘May his gentle soul rest in peace’

Predeceased by his parents Delia and James, sister Ellie and brothers Eddie, Johnny, Tommy and Bernard.

Beloved husband of Emily and dear father to Patricia, Martina, Jo-Anne, Sharon, Ailish and James. Sadly missed by his immediate and extended family, friends, neighbours and customers of P.J. Flaherty’s Bar.

Removal from his home on Monday morning 16th August to Christ the King Church, Salthill to arrive for Requiem Mass at 12 noon. Funeral after Mass to Rahoon Cemetery.

House private please. Family flowers only. Donations if preferred to Galway Hospice.

Due to Government and HSE guidelines P.J.’s funeral Mass is restricted to an attendance of 50 mourners and will take place privately.

P.J.’s family would like to thank you for your sympathy, understanding and support at this sad time.

Maura Hayes R.I.P.

The death has occurred of Maura Hayes
Asca Beag, Mincloon, Galway City, Galway

Maura passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family in the excellent care of Galway Hospice. Beloved mother of Des and Joanne; sadly missed by her son and daughter, sisters Eleanor and Anne, son-in-law Darren, daughter-in-law Catherine, grandchildren Aoibhe, Daragh, Molly, Kate and Jack, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, neighbours and her wonderful friends.

A private funeral Mass will be celebrated for Maura at 11.00 a.m. on Thursday 12th August at the Church of Christ the King, Salthill followed by private cremation at Shannon crematorium. Family flowers only. Donations if desired to Galway Hospice / Cancer Care West.
