The death has occurred of Marie Smithwick (née Caulfield)
D’Alton Drive, Salthill, Galway / Oranmore, Galway

Peacefully after a short illness, surrounded by her loving family, at University Hospital Galway. Predeceased by her husband Noel. Deeply regretted by her daughters Orla, Siobhan, Deirdre, & Fiona, her adored grandchildren Ciara, Ronan, Dara, Ivahn, & Alex, sons in law Declan Sheppard, Peter Eagle & Ger Timothy, sister Rita, brother Denis, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours, and many good friends.

May Her Gentle Soul Rest In Peace.

Reposing at her daughter Deirdre’s residence on Sunday from 4 to 8 o’clock. Mass of the resurrection on Monday in the Church of Christ the King, Salthill, at 12 noon, followed by burial in Rahoon Cemetery.

Michael Mannion R.I.P.

The death has occurred of Michael Mannion
Rockbarton Park, Salthill, Galway

(Late of Overstrand Mansions, Battersea, London). Beloved brother of Simon, Barbara, Maura and the late John. Michael will be sadly missed by his brother and sisters, sister-in-law Josephine, brother-in-law Malachy, nephews Howard, Simon and Aaron, nieces Victoria and Olivia and grandnephews Howard and Jonah.

Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Michael at 11.00 a.m. on Friday, 21st January, at the Church of Christ the King, Salthill. Funeral after Mass to Rahoon Cemetery. House private please. Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, to Galway Hospice.


Elizabeth (Betty) Duggan (née Tuohy) RIP

The death has occurred of Elizabeth (Betty) Duggan (née Tuohy)
Glenard Crescent, Salthill, Galway / Gort, Galway

Betty passed away peacefully at University Hospital Galway, on Saturday 15th January, 2022, surrounded by her loving family; beloved wife of Patrick and much loved mother of Anne-Marie and Paula.

Predeceased by her sister Mary Killoughrey (London).

Deeply mourned and sadly missed by her husband and daughters, sister Rita (Coll), brother Joe Tuohy (Cork), sisters-in-law Sr. Carmel, Greta and Claire, brother-in-law Martin, nieces, nephews, the extended Duggan and Tuohy families, neighbours and many friends.

Arriving at the Church of Christ the King, Salthill on Thursday 20th January, 2022 for Requiem Mass at 11.00 a.m. Funeral after Mass to Rahoon cemetery.

Mary Sheridan R.I.P.

The death has occurred of Mary Sheridan (née Heneghan)
Dr. Mannix Road, Salthill, Galway / Shrule, Mayo

Mary passed away peacefully at home in the loving care of her daughters. Beloved wife of the late Jack and much loved mother of Andrea, Imelda and Antoinette. Predeceased by her brothers Jackie, Louis, Fursa and Tony and by her sisters Imelda and the very recently deceased Hilda.

Deeply mourned and sadly missed by her daughters, sons-in-law Dermot, John and Brendan, her adored grandchildren Weston, Alan, Daragh, Jack, Alex and Georgia, great-grandchildren Isaac, Clodagh and Eloise, extended family, neighbours and many friends.

Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Mary on Saturday, 15th January, at 11.00 a.m. at the Church of Christ the King, Salthill. Funeral after Mass to Rahoon cemetery. House private please. Family flowers only.

Clodagh Christie RIP

The death has occurred of Clodagh Christie
Salthill, Galway

Christie, Clodagh – Salthill, Galway. January 7th 2022, unexpectedly. Beloved eldest daughter of Madeline and the late Joe.

She will be sadly missed by her mum, her family, Philip, Colum, Kevin & Amy and Clodagh’s cherished godson and nephew Baby Joseph – as well as her extended family and friends, her team of P.A.s and her support staff in the I.W.A.

Requiem Mass will be held on Friday, January 14th at 12 noon in Christ the King Church Salthill, followed by funeral to Renville Cemetery Oranmore.
