Retired engineer, Galway County Council.

On Friday 25th February, 2022 Paraic passed away very peacefully at the Galway Hospice with his devoted wife Aileen (in their Golden wedding year) and their family by his side.

Pre-deceased by his parents Patrick and Kathleen.

Deeply mourned and very sadly missed by Aileen, daughter Catherine, sons Garrett, Pádraig and Daragh, son-in-law Conor, Garrett’s partner Miriam, adored grandchildren Holly and Joey, brothers Aidan and John and their families, the extended Glynn and McCormack family and friends, in particular, his classmates of Coláiste Iognáid 1963 and the UCG BE class of 1967.

Reposing at StAnthony’s Room within the Church of StJohn the ApostleKnocknacarra on Monday, 28th February from 5.30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Funeral to arrive at the Church of Christ the KingSalthill on Tuesday, 1st March for Requiem Mass at 11 a.m. Funeral after Mass to Rahoon cemetery.

John Joe O’Reilly Ard na Mara RIP

(formerly Roundstone, Co Galway). On Friday 18th February, 2022 John Joe died very peacefully at home in the loving care of his wife Delma and family. Pre-deceased by his son David and sister Eileen.

Deeply mourned and sadly missed by his wife and their sons and daughters John, Michael, Paul, Miriam, Joan, Geraldine, Olivia, Patricia and Caitriona, sisters Rose and Veronica, daughters-in-law Camilla and Una, sons-in-law Tom, Dan and Joe, much loved grandchildren Gemma and Rebecca, Kieran, Shane and Conor, Alan, Andrea and Colm, Emma and Gillian, Caitlin and John and great grandson James, the extended O’Reilly and Moran family and many friends.

Reposing at the O’Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue on Monday, 21st February from 4.00 p.m. with Removal at 5.30 p.m. to the Church of Christ the King, Salthill to arrive at 6 p.m. Requiem Mass on Tuesday, 22nd February, 2022 at 12 noon. (Retired National Schools Inspector).

10th February, 2022. Peacefully, surrounded by his family at UHG. Predeceased by his loving wife Peggy, his parents William and Martha and his brothers Liam and Fr. Tom. John Joe is deeply regretted by his loving children Karen (Cronin), Mark, David, Michelle (Corcoran) and Adrian, his adored grandchildren Gary, Aine, Dean, Rebecca, Nicole, Ciaran, Josh, Sean, Rhys, and Evan, great grandchildren, Charlotte, Tadgh and Iarla, brothers Fr. Michael and Christo, sisters Sr. Stephanie and Patty, sons-in-law Adrian and Tom, daughter-in-law Louise, Marks partner Breege, David’s partner Helen, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours, friends and especially John Joe’s carer Gina whose care and friendship was exemplary.

May he Rest in Peace

Reposing at his residence on Saturday from 4pm to 7pm and again on Sunday 4pm to 7pm. Removal on Monday morning (14th Feb) to the Church of Christ the King, Salthill for Funeral Mass at 11.30am. Burial afterwards in Killina Cemetery Elphin, Co. Roscommon at 3.30pm.

Nancy (Nana) Briscoe (née Scannell) RIP

The death has occurred of Nancy (Nana) Briscoe (née Scannell)

Salthill, Galway, formerly Abbeyfeale, Limerick and New York.

Nancy passed away peacefully on Saturday, 5th February at University Hospital Galway with her loving family by her side. Dearly beloved mother of Patrick, Mary, Ann, Clare and Karen, adored grandmother of Aoife, Orna and Mark Cunningham, Aidan and Lauren Boyd, Emma, Patrick and Tomas Briscoe, Derek and Rory Ballachino, Kyra and Jack Strogylos and cherished great grandmother of baby Grace.

Sadly mourned and lovingly remembered by her son, daughters and their father Charlie, her sisters Bríd and Noreen, daughter-in-law Maryanne, sons-in-law Ian, Stephen, Tom and David and grandchildren, extended family especially Michelle, Alison and Frank, nieces and nephews, many great neighbours, friends and wonderful care team and all who knew her.

A ‘walk-through’ system for reposing is in place at the ‘Cillín’ which is located within The Church of Mary Immaculate Queen, Barna, on Monday, 7th February, from 6pm to 7pm. Removal from the ‘Cillín’ at 7pm to The Church of Christ the King, Salthill. Requiem Mass therein on Tuesday, 8th February, at 12 noon. Private cremation to follow. No flowers, please. Donations, if desired, to CROÍ.
