There was terrific excitement on Threadneedle Road last week, when the contract for the new extension to Salerno Secondary School was signed.

The new twelve-classroom extension will give much needed additional space for the hugely overcrowded school.

Sr. Gerarda is ecstatic about the future “I have been waiting for this day for the last 15 years” she said at the signing on Friday last. “I would like to take this opportunity to thank the successive boards of management, past-pupils and retired staff who worked tirelessly to make this a reality. It is a dream come true…..we have had chronic overcrowding for far too long…..at last we will have the space our staff and pupils need and deserve”.

The school will be inspected on Thursday the 29th of April.
Our Green School committee encourages students, parents and teachers to walk, cycle, park ‘n’ stride, use the bus or carpool instead of using the private car on the school run.
